Is there a difference between baby back ribs and those advertised as back ribs? If so, what is it?
Thanks for any help.
Hank

Most of the ribs I see advertised as "back ribs" are beef, whereas "baby back ribs" are pork.

Hanky..."Baby Back" ribs, or the more correctly labled "loin back" ribs are indeed the same item...Pork...Depending on the packer, or more so on the retailer the ribs that you see labeled "back" ribs could be pork or beef...Obviously the beef would be a darker red meat than the pinkish pork meat. When in doubt, always ask the market personnel exactly what the product is...Also read the fine print on the label..HTH.

      Enjoy!
