Sonoma dinner, under $50??

Hello. I'm making my inaugural trip to Sonoma this weekend (yay!) I'm looking for a good but reasonable place for dinner on Saturday night. Sadly, I cannot afford French Laundry, nor Cyrus. Preferably under $50 per person. (Under $40, even better.) Any ideas? Doesn't have to be fancy, but unique would be a plus.

  1. I had a lovely meal at Harnest Moon Cafe on the Plaza. It's more casual, but nice, outdoor seating available in back. Depending on how you order it could be under $50 pp.

Standouts for me were a halibut carpaccio with avocado, graprefruit, and thinly sliced jalapeƱos, and my friend's beet salad with a terrific olive oil, meyer lemon zest, some kind of tangy cheese, and I think a few greens. But it was all about the beets and zest and olive oil (Coturri). My main was pan fried sandabs, with salsa verde, arugula and roasted fingerlings. My friend had the mixed grill of lamb, delicious. My share of the tab was $60 including two glasses of winr and tip.

    1. the girl & the fig has a nightly three-course plat du jour for $ 32 There is a paired wine flight for an additional $8.

You could give them a call and ask what it will be this week. It is changed on Thursday night and remains the same for a week.
