Wisknladle in La Jolla

Does anyone have feedback on the new La Jolla restaurant Wisknladle that opened in February? Photos of the interior look trendy and modern and the menu appears to be simple food like they tout, but would like to hear some first-hand experience!

    1. I was there for lunch the Friday of Easter Weekend, the s.o. and I took the day off to rebuke the division of Church and State =P
I quite enjoyed everything we had, but it was a tad pricey with drinks for a quick lunch. Sat on the patio and were surrounded by tourists (the place was packed for the hour - around 2pm).
Started with Asparagus soup with green garlic croutons- soup was spot on, not very heavy garlic flavour though.
Tuna Nicoise Salad was very good, high quality piece of fish seared very well 1/8" around with firm raw 1" center. The vinaigrette they used was very good too and the salad ingredients were really nice and fresh.
The s.o. ordered Fish Tacos (no meat for her Friday - considered the Chilean Sea bass, but at $27, it was a little steep for lunch). The tacos were quite good and well seasoned with sides of salsa and green sauce (I think..). The highlight of this plate though was really the homemade potato chips! I could have eaten just those and probably would still give a glowing review!
I had heard they had homemade tonic, so I started with a G&T. Good, but not blow your socks off. The s.o. had a sangria (pomegranate maybe?), and the fruit was quite tasty, but the drink was nothing to write home about overall. Finished with a Pyramid Heffeweizen - total w/ tip was ~$80.
I have to say the service was really good from all the staff and the owner was making the rounds checking up on everyone too.
