location needed: going away dinner party for boss

courtney.hami Apr 9, 2008 10:56 AM

Our adored media relations guru is departing for another company after 7yrs here. We're an enviro non-profit and looking for a less expensive place where we can celebrate (and roast) the man.

Probably 15 to 25 guests. Price range from $10/pp w. BYOB to $35/pp some drinks included.

Location: anywhere from chinatown to central park.

Cuisine: Italian, Korean, Chinese, Dim Sum, Japanese.... whatever. though at least 1 veggie option on the menu is a must.

he gave 2 wks notice on friday.

TAPAS or rent a bar from 4-7 on a weekday, and get some food from Zabars or dean and Delluca

I think you've misunderstood pancun187. As I read the post, he/she was saying that you should consider doing tapas *or* renting a bar during the week and bringing in some food.

My suggestion would be Korean barbecue at Kang Suh, on the corner of 32nd & B'way. They have private spaces for a group your size. It's been a while since we've been there, so you'd have to check to see if the cost would fit your budget. Menu on menupages.com.

Thanks RGR, your suggestion is definately what I'm looking for. I'm looking for restaurant advice. We're more foodies than lushes. ;)
