This place just opened on Route 30, not far from the Lincoln Shopping Center. I am going tomorrow, has anyone been yet?

I just went there - this place is awesome! Cupcakes Gourmet only opened on Saturday and I already love it!

The place is nice and cute. Cupcakes are available in two sizes, small (1.50 each) and big (3.00 each, which is a little expensive but oh well). Flavors are fairly tarditional - chocolate, PB, coconut, red velvet, although I did see some Chai on the list of available flavors.

I picked three different kinds today: vanilla, PB, and mocha. I gave the vanilla away to co-workers and tried PB and moka. All flavors were in the icing, the cupcake is actually chocolate. Cupcakes were freshly made, nice chocolate-y flavor and not too sweet. PB icing was good, very light and fluffy. The mocha was amazing: flavor was balanced, coffee flavor was trong but nicely balanced by the sugar. Flavor had a long finish. I cannot wait to eat those again.

This place is probably going to be my new favorite pick-me-up bakery, I cannot wait to try all the remaining flavors!

Do you have their address? There's no info on their website.

Interesting, I think they were at taste of chester county last year and maybe mostly working out of their home or somewhere and now opened a store? But yeah more specific location info would be helpful.

Sorry about that... The address is 288 Lancaster Avenue from what I remember. It's really close to The Goddard School and MacKenzie (sp?). You can see the "Grand Openings" signs right from Route 30.

I had a chance to try them. They are very good & the staff (?owner?) was super nice. I do think they are pricey- as I frequently buy cupcakes. However, while I love Clays & they are less expensive, the flavors there are basic.
What I loved about Cupcakes Gourmet were the flavors. The vanilla tasted like vanilla bean. The cinnamon, lemon & PB were also very good (No, I did not eat them all- I had a tiny taste of each mini one).

i would have eaten them all.

i stopped by early-ish (9.30) on saturday morning and they were not open. i could not be bothered to linger for the thirty minutes until they were open...but things looked alright. the only issue i have is that while no one was there yet on saturday morning, the glass displays were all stocked with ready-made cupcakes. i really prefer to see them being out just before opening...even if it is only to give the illusion of being freshly baked.

I see what you mean- although I did ask for PB since there were none in the case and I was told she just finished them, so she went & got one from the back. The others did taste just as fresh as the newest PB one. I guess they want to have some ready for right when they open- I would ask if there are any "just made" flavors when you go like I did.

I went last week. It really is a cute place and the owner is extremely friendly. I did learn, however, that I'm just not a cupcake fan. I want to be, but they are just too sweet for me, although they almost had me on the coconut one. But I strongly recommend this place for anyone who loves them and for gifts. The packaging was quite nice and perfect for a special hostess gift, etc.

We tried them last week. My thoughts:

chai latte: not good. weird lavender aftertaste. very disappointing.

dark chocolate mint: excellent. chocolate cake with mint buttercream dipped in dark chocolate ganache. truly excellent. the best we tried.

choc. with peanut butter icing: good cake, but pb frosting had a weird taste to it. choc/pb is my favorite combo so I was disappointed.

choc with vanilla frosting and vanilla with choc frosting: both very good. nice true chocolate and vanilla flavors.

overall, pretty good, but we need another visit to really give it a full review. the employees were lovely and we will certainly go back.

Chipotle chocolate was my favorite...a nice nip at the end!

Tried a few different mini and regular cupcakes including lime zest, red velvet, double dark chocolate and lemon.

Our favorite was double dark chocolate (not too sweet). In fact it was so good we had to have another.

Service was very friendly, but a bit...hmmm...ditzy (wrong change, forgetting items from the order, etc).

Just passed it on my way home:

Going east on 30, it's on the right side of the road, almost directly across 30 from Westgate Shopping Center (Staples).

The shopping center it is located in is called Nobb Hill Shops, right after Clews & Strawbridge boat store on the south side of 30.

I stopped there this afternoon and picked up a bunch of cc's for the office. I got two dozen of the mini's for $32. The price list says $18 for a dozen, so I dunno.

So far I have tried the cafe au lait and it was a little bite of heaven. Then I tried the Classic Vanilla and found the icing a bit too sweet for my taste. The cake was delish, nice and fresh. My staff reports that the Banana Chocolate Chip and Lime were fantastic. The cake in the Dark Chocolate Mint was amazing.

Definitely a fun little place. Not cheap, but worth stopping in.
