Chocolate, South Beach

Has anyone been to Chocolate (part of the Vida y Estilo group) on Espanola? The menu looks quite yummy, but it certainly would depend upon the quality.

    I thought it was ok, not overly impressed. That area has tons of mosquitos btw, watch out...

      Hmm, good to know. Perhaps we'll just go for desert! With lots of bugscreen

        Admittedly, it's been a while since my one and only visit to Chocolate. That said, I found the food- from starters to dessert, wholly underwhelming. My dining companion wanted to leave after our mediocre meal but I thought that the desserts must be in a category above the dinner. By was I wrong! We had some chocolate cake confection that was stale. I would recommend you have a dessert elsewhere on the Beach- maybe even a crepe next door at A La Folie if you want to experience Espanola Way.

          Thanks for the feedback - think we'll skip it. We're going to Sardinia for dinner and had considered doing dessert on the way back to the hotel. Think we'll just stay at Sardinia!

            Sardinia has great desserts, particularly the Millefoglie.

            The panna cotta is also the best on the beach.

            Their duo di mouse is also great, but I usually opt for the millefoglie which is one of my favorite desserts on the beach.

            I would guarantee you these desserts I mentioned are better than anything chocoalte has to offer.

              Mmm, yummy, I love Millefoglie. Looking forward to some amazing wine too. Sardinia's website didn't list their desserts, so this is really good to know.

                They have 2 other desserts on the menu. A flourless chocolate cake and a strawberry tiramisu. Not that these are bad desserts, they are not nearly in the class of desserts I prefer which I mentioned above.

                If you love Mollefoglie, you must get sardinias. It is excellent.

                  What about La Folie on Espanola Way for a crepe? Simple dessert and not too over the top and is still on way back to hotel I assume.

                    The crepes there are the best on the beach. Get the bananna nutella. My opinion is the Millefoglie is at sardinia is better still.

                    La Folie has the same mosquito issue as chocolate btw, they are next to each other...It is why I don't go there often anymore, I can't hack the mosquito bites.
