Wolfgang Puck Catering at the Museum of Science?

Has anyone been to an event catered by Wolfgang Puck catering at the Museum of Science? I'm considering having my wedding there, and I love the space but I'm very nervous about the food since they're not exactly a small local caterer. Any experiences to share?

  1. Word is that the guy who runs the show there is the same guy who taught my CSCA "back to basics" class a couple years ago, and he knows his techniques cold. Showed us a neat fish technique I'd only seen at Le Bernardin before. He was at Spire then (a soux, I think) and left to do this. Obviously, however, the Puckness may cramp one's style a bit.
You can confirm or deny my roundabout rumors by using this test: does the guy have the best Vegas name EVER? If so, that's the chef I'm talking about.

    1. We did the Easter brunch in the skyline room last year. As I remember it was just OK, nothing too memorable but not horrible either. It was definitely not a great value for the price point IMO and the service was a bit ameturish. It is a great space though. Do they not give you they option of bringing in an outside caterer?

      1. enhF94 - i can confirm that that is the chef at MOS - great name! He is excellent.

He franchises that great name, according to their website. I'm flattered to hear that out of the dozen locations of Wolfgang Puck Catering, and his restaurants out west, Mr. Puck chooses to come to the Boston area to be the chef at the MOS. That's cool.

I think you misunderstood. Wolfgang Puck(the chef) is not working at the MOS.

The previous post says "I can confirm that that is the chef at MOS....He is excellent" so I took them for their word.

I'm pretty sure she was referring to the chef who is helming the MOS, who has an excellent name, but who is not Wolfgang Puck. I suppose Wolfgang is also an excellent name, however.

Why so coy about the actual chef's name?

                  1. re: enhF94

All right then, what's the name of this chef, why keep it a secret if it's such a cool name?

                    1. re: enhF94

Why the big mystery? What's the name of the chef you're talking about with the great Vegas name? Seems like this is getting unnecessarily confusing.

Restaurant Associates operates all of the all the venues at the MOS including WPC. The chef in charge of this is Mukesh "Tiger" Ramnarine, last I heard. And he was previously a corporate chef for Fidelity Investments at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center. I don't know who the actual chef at WPC is.

Thanks! That *is* a cool name and I have been to Seaport events...I agree he is pretty good now that i know who he is.

sorry - wasn't trying to be secretive - was just replying to that first post. The guy with the cool vegas name was Monte Casino. He's not there anymore, not sure who is.

I recently attended an event catered at MOS by Wolfgang Puck catering. I was not impressed. The pulled pork was bland and the hamburgers were undercooked.
