It's the oldest, and arguably the best of the three steak/frites eateries. Cheap, relatively, and no reservations, make it popular and always filled to capacity. I like them all, but definitely not "destination" restaurants. You can do much better. A good place to stop if you happen to be in the area, but that's all.

We were there Saturday night--45 minute wait at 10 pm. Once you secure a table, the waitress simply asks how you want your steak--au point, bleu, etc and marks your paper tablecloth. You get a salad, a perfectly cooked steak with a sauce I'm still dreaming about, and a mound of pommes allumettes. Wine is about 18 euro, maybe 3 choices. After you've finished your first plate, they serve it again. 23 Euros. Extensive dessert menu, from profiteroles to Mont Blanc. Everybody in the place was French, not an American in sight. Evening slightly marred by a group of loud, drunk French people--I thought they only behaved that way on vacation in Thailand.
