dining dilemma - kokkari or town hall?

Friend coming to town, we're meeting at Slanted Door for drinks at 7:30pm. We could eat at the bar, but I be that'd noisy for catching up - I think. (no res. avail. except at 5:30pm). We have reservations at Kokkari and Town Hall. Need to decide. We love everything, and i love seafood. octopus at Kokkari is pulling me. but it's a cab ride. do cabs linger front of ferry building at all? So 'hounds - ideas and opinions dearly welcomed.

Kokkari is 0.3 mile (three blocks) from Slanted Door, Town Hall is 0.6 (seven blocks)

Kokkari is great and has been quiet when I've eaten there.

I haven't been to Town Hall but reportedly it can be noisy:

No way Kokkari is only three blocks from Slanted Door, but I agree it's quite walkable.

I haven't been to Kokkari, but I have been to Town Hall, and it can be quite noisy.

Oops, you're right, I was looking at the wrong corner. Walking it's about five blocks, 0.4 mile. (Driving it's more due to closed-off and one-way streets.)

Depends on what kind of food you want to eat. But for me, I'd probably pick Kokkari over Town Hall. It's such a cozy and warm interior and I love Greek food. Kokkari makes a nice, rich moussaka and usually has some nice lamb dishes.

I really like Kokkari and its warm atmosphere and great food. I don't particularly care for Town Hall and it's very noisy. Kokkari is probably a five to seven minute walk from Slanted Door, Town Hall is farther. The grilled octopus appetizer is really good, as is the lamb entree.

Kokkari is a memorable meal. Town Hall, while good, is not.

Okay, thank you much for the weigh-ins. Think I'll head to Kokkari, and maybe have 2 orders of octopus and see what I can talk my companion into ordering. lamb, yes, lamb would be good! thanks again 'Hounds!and ...if bar at Slanted Door ends up winning, I'll report back.

The soutzoukakia (lamb meatballs), kokkari potatoes, and the ribeye are phenomenal. Just in case you decide on something else. :)

If you go to Kokkari, try and read up on some of the favorites.... there are a few total clunkers on the menu. The chicken comes to mind.

On a cold evening to find a whole lamb roasting (being roasted?) over the open fire at Kokkari--nothing better. The rooms are a little loud, however.
