Gourmet vegetarian restaurants in SF
Hi hounders,
We are visiting SF in a few weeks and want to try some vegetarian dining. Money is not an issue, we just want superior, gourmet food. We are staying at the W if that helps.
Thanks!

For a pure vegetarian gourmet menu, check out Millennium, Ubuntu, and perhaps Greens.
Several fine dining restaurants offer vegetarian tasting menus, like Masa's, Fleur de Lys, Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton, and La Folie.
One of the most popular "mainstream" restaurants with veggies here in the city is Aziza.

Good list.
I don't think Greens is on the same level with the others, but it has a great view.
Medicine (Japanese, lunch only) is another verging-on-gourmet vegetarian place.

Medicine hasn't been all-vegetarian for over a year. For veggie sushi, I prefer Minako (organic with vegan miso and a whole page of veggie and vegan sushi) in the Mission (dinner only, W-Su).
