(SAT) Marty's NY Deli

Anyone been there yet (they're @ 1604 & Blanco), if so what did you think?

  1. I know a few people who have. My father in law said his sandwich was too cold and the meat cut too thick. Another coworker said her corn beef was too fatty. Hopefully they can work the kinks out, this town really needs a good deli.

    1. Avoid this place at all costs. I ordered lox on a bialy w/ garlic schmear. What I actually received (25 minutes later!!!) was rotten salmon on an untoasted egg bagel with a small cup of fat-free cc garnished with wilted lettuce and different onions than the menu suggests. All this for over $10!!! I hate to say it, but for the time being SA is still better off going to places like Benny's Bagels.

      Long live Chompies !!!!

I went there for lunch on Thursday, and it was better than expected. I had a pastrami sandwich and it was tasty and the bread was good. The only problem was I ordered potato pancakes and they waited until my sandwich was ready to tell me they didn't have any.
I ended up bringing home a loaf of their rye bread and a # of the pastrami. I heated up the pastrami on the griddle, rendering some of the fat off and melted some cheese on it. Very yummy.
I didn't like that most of their baked goods were wrapped in cellophane and that they cooked the pizza on a conveyor belt contraption.
