Restaurants for board members...

I need recommendations for restaurants.

1) Near (walking distance) to Queen and Spadina
2) Near (walking distance) to Jarvis and Gerrard (Ryerson, basically)...or maybe a little further if there's nothing good in the area.

Preferably less than $25/person (ie. $15 entrees). It would be great if it had a private room for around 12 people. Good food and nice atmosphere, but nothing too fancy - it is for our board, so it's made up of both young and older feminist women from South America, Africa, the pacific, etc. Something with good vegetarian options, and something that shows how great Toronto food can be!

Thanks in advance!

  1. for 2) how about Linda, above Salad King. You can reserve a table for 12 - it's much quieter upstairs...

    1. Is your price point for lunch or dinner?

      1. Pickings that fit all of your criteria and are within a reasonable walking distance of your intersections are mighty slim. Private rooms are impossible. If your budget gets any larger, please let me know.

        1) The closest I can think of is Peter Pan.

        2) You might want to take a look at Daio Japanese at 45 Carlton St just east of Yonge, although I think their biggest booth seats 8. The food and service there is terrific.

        Peter Pan

        Daio Japanese Restaurant

        1. I haven't been there, just going by my memory of what's in the area but what about Sasi Thai at Jarvis and Gerrard for #2? Location, vegeterian options and price point look to be about right. Their website, alas, is not very helpful. Maybe someone who's been there can better comment on its appropriateness.

          Sasi Thai
323 Jarvis St, Toronto, ON M5B2C2, CA

          1. If its Lunch...Osgoode Hall...corner of Univ and Queen is great..not unlike The Great Hall at Hart House...I always take notice of how many Women Lawyers are chowing there...I been there when groups have been at tables of 10 or 12....definietly need rez...Miranda
