Hi Kim:

Judging from your recent posts, you are in the Bay Area, yes? I'm embarassed to say I don't know any of the favourite restos you listed in your profile so I don't know what kinds of food you like. Have you tried searching on the CH Western Canada board? Or just go ahead and post your questions with as much detail as you can of what you're into and the Coastal Hounds will chime in I'm sure :-).

kim,
up until a few years ago, we went every summer to vancouver, as part of a 3 week PNW vaca. The 'musts' on our annual restnt list include Diva [famous for their Smoked Sablefish(black cod) entree] and Lumiere for elegant/innovative, and the two different Bin 947 and Bin 946? (sorry; can't remember the numbers)- crazy busy funky fusion tapas). and Mum's ?Gelateria in Point Grey area. and Vij for some unusual Indian dishes I've never seen elsewhere.

Bin 941 and 942.
Mum's is now only downtown on Denman and I read that its ownership changed sometime in 2007 (?)
I believer Lumiere is closed for renos as of the end of April with Dale McKay in the kitchen and Daniel Boulud now involved. Rob Feenie would have been at the helm when Opinionated Chef was dining there.
