Fish -- Buy frozen or from local (non-coastal) fishmonger ?
I'm looking for some good sources for fish, currently, Black Cod (sablefish). I live about an hour west of Philadelphia and can get "fresh" seafood at a Wegmans or other fishmonger, or I can order online. What seems surprising is that the online sources are actually more expensive before I even consider shipping. For example, I just spent the weekend in Princeton. We walked through Mccaffrey's and found Black Cod in their display case for about $15/pound; they said they get Black Cod in fresh daily. Best price I found online for frozen portions from Alaska is about $17.95/pound, plus shipping (http://www.great-alaska-seafood.com/s...).
What's your experience with quality differences? Do you have a favorite online source?
