South End
Spending three days staying in the South End and attending a conference in the Back Bay/ Copley area. Looking for recs for good food at reasonable prices. Hoping for at least one Chinese/ Cantonese meal and at least one good seafood meal. All recs welcome. Thanks.

While in the South End, great seafood is at B&G Oysters, fantastic Oysters, and a great little menu of other choices, open for lunch and dinner (last I checked) and truly unique.
Tough to tell from a map or a guide, but Chinatown is less than 25 m walk from South End (probably not a great walk for a woman alone late) and there are a ton of posts from Chowhounds on where to eat in Chinatown...but King Fun Garden does BYOB, and they are great for a small group of people - order the duck the day before...
Breakfast at Flour is a great South End stop as well...

Thank you for the recs, rj. I LOVE oysters so B & G sounds perfect. Also, we are staying at a hotel that provides free shuttle service within a 2 mile distance so getting to Chinatown shouldn't be too difficult. Thanks for the tip on KFG. My daughters and husband love peking duck!

Myers+Chang is another South End option to consider. It's casual (somebody here described its design aesthetic as "hipster diner", which I think captures it nicely), fun, and does a mix of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Cambodian dishes, not really aiming for perfect authenticity, and expensive compared to Chinatown. A lot of fun, moreso with a group. A lot to love on that menu, only a few dishes that don't measure up.
Some Cantonese options if you do consider Chinatown: New Jumbo Seafood, Peach Farm (my favorite live-tank seafood place), Hong Kong Eatery, and Rainbow Cafe.
