I recommend the whole wheat crust pizza; it's interesting and pretty good. La Promesa Bakery and Mexican Food: 3447 Lake Tahoe Blvd. #4 Phone: (530) 541-2019. It's in a strip mall at the Long's shopping center (see photo #1). Based on a chowhound reco, I pickup up some Champurrado, Mexican hot chocolate thickened with masa. Very different and worth a try. Mt Tallac Brewing Company: 2060 Eloise Ave, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 (530) 541-7405 This was a spectacular find. It's a small warehouse brewery that hosts free beer tasting from 5-7 pm daily. It's located around the corner from Miller's Outpost near the Y. You enter through the loading dock (see photo #2); knock on the door and Jeff will let you in. The three beers were outstanding; they had an ale, a porter, and an amber.
