I went by there today on my bike and saw this place. Does anybody know anything about it? Anyone try it?

BBQ beef sandwich mediocre. But the lamb sounds like it could be good.

a good kentucky-style lamb is hard to beat. that'd be worth a trip!

Their pulled pork is exceptional. The rest is merely OK, and the prices are high for the rather dilapidated atmosphere. Avoid weekends, when they have really dreadful live music. They have good beer on tap and a big variety of artisinal bourbons.

There's a place called BarBQ at 689 6th Avenue (Corner of 20th St.)
Not on 3rd ave, as far as I know.

If this is the place you mean, than yeah it's pretty good. Pulled pork and the mac&cheese is my favorite. Great hot sauces and bourbon.

I was referring to the new place on 3rd Ave. BBQ on 6th Ave I like.

I just got back from having lunch. I ordered a custom ample plate of every thing but the lamb (they ran out), the ribs, chicken and brisket had good seasoning but not much smoke. In fact the meats mentioned were pretty moist. The bbq pork is no big deal. It's the sliced Chinese pork roll you get in cheap coffee shops. The sauce isn't bad either. Not too sweet, has a nice tang. Like I say though if it were smoked some more he wouldn't need sauce. Sides are limited to fresh yet bland cole slaw and bland yellow rice.

The interior looks like the exterior of The Planet of the Apes (1968) village. It also reeks of gasoline. The owner/chef is very nice though and took my critique very well. I hope he succeeds.
