looking for New Orleans ingredients
I want to make some real New Orleans red beans and rice, and wanted to see if any one knew where I could find some ingredents:
camelia's red beans? (they're not like kidney beans--they're kind of pink
authentic boudain sausage? (not the chicken verson they have at Trader Joe's)
ham bone
Help! Must soothe craving the right way.
Thanks

Next to the old Stevies on the Strip, Crenshaw & Jefferson is a fish market, they have the beans. Huntington Meats in the Farmers Market has a great andouille sausage, this is what you use in red beans, not boudain. Huntington might also have the beans, call them. Ham bone should also be at Huntington Meats. Heck, call Huntington meats, I think they open at 9:00.

i don't know if this will help, but Zatarain's has been producing lots of new orleans style stuff for many, many years. i have been buying their seafood boil since the early 70's.
