Knish Knosh, Queens Blvd. at 67 Rd. the only place for knishes IMHO.
There's a bunch of other knish posts on CH. Check them out, lots of info.

ya I used to love their kasha knish but for some reason, it has gotten too mellow and bland, and needs some serious mustard (or at least a healthy shake of salt). nowadays I just stick w/ the plain, or if I'm feeling piggish, the meat knish.
if you do end up going there, I really like their chopped liver; made fresh w/ no preservatives, it goes bad after a day or so, but is excellent for a crowd. tends to sell out early too.

Don't bother traveling too far. Knish Nosh in Queens is the only semi-decent alternative (and I'm not ecstatic over them, but they're OK). Time was not many years ago there were so many places to get a decent knish that nobody would bother to have made a list. Now, it's almost extinct. I think people try Yonah Shimmel and hate it so much they never eat a knish again.

I like kasha, but I'm not fond of kasha knishes -- they're too dry for me. Actually, Yonah Shimmel's are not bad. Knish Nosh, at least for me, went WAY downhill when it moved, even though only across the street.
Ah for Mrs. Stahl's in Coney Island, which went away, came back and seems to be gone again.
If you need a kasha fix, try the kasha kishka at Baczynsky's Meat Market at 139 3rd Ave. -- a kishka (intestine) wrapper with blood and kasha. Roasted or fried in slices, it's wonderful.

If you're taking this down memory lane, I still pine for what Ruby the Knish Man put out from his farshtunkena truck.

It has been reported here that a Bagel Store in Mill Basin who did business with Mrs. Stahls for 15 years got her recipes when it went out of business. They are now making Mrs. Stahl's knishes including Kasha ones.

Carnegie Deli, surprisingly, still does a good kasha knish - but my favorite over the last few years comes from New Jersey. Hobby's Deli, in downtown Newark, has been in continuous operation as a Jewish deli for over 90 years (3 families). Their kasha knish has a great crust and distinct grains of kasha (not the kasha mush that characterizes most current knishes). Worth a detour, IMO.

Mr.HR and I went to a new little bar on 10th and Ave. C and they have a kasha knish on the menu. It's not listed as being kasha and it comes with a hot dog as well. The place is called the East Village Tavern, but it doesn't have a sign yet...it's on the SE corner.
