Bistro on King West???

The other night, I was driving along King west and out of the corner of my eye I saw a store front of some new (at least I hadn't noticed it before) restaurant advertising bistro fare. I seem to recall that they had a board outside advertising take-away as well.

Unfortunately, my memory is failing me, because I can't remember the exact address, or the stores on either side of it. What I do recall, is that it is on the South side of King, b/w Spadina & Bathurst....might be near 2 Cats?

Anyway, just curious if anyone knows of this place and if it is worth stopping in.

For your eyes only has bistro fare?....not sure if I would be comfortable ordering coq au vin from there....or would I? ;)

    2. There's a new place called Chop Chop - mixed menu, busy at lunch. Maybe that's what you saw?

No, but I've been meaning to try it myself. I wonder if they're open on weekends?

      2. It is probably Spice Route Asian Bistro. It used to be Touch Lounge. I have not been there yet but some of my friends go after work for drinks. It is a restaurant and lounge. 499 King West.

Spice Route is only good for ambiance. The service is terrible - and the food is mediocre at best. Probably why everyone goes only for drinks....but the lineups are always so long - I'm guessing because the service is inefficient.

        2. I think you are referring to Fresco's. It is right beside Starbucks and hasn't yet opened...at Brant Street. I don't have high hopes for it lasting.

They're definitely talking about Chop Chop. South side of King just east of Portland next to Craft Burger. They have a chalkboard outside and it says Chop Chop Bistro. Just cheap Asian stuff. Don't get excited.
