ISO Fresh Lemonade Downtown

Does anyone know if any of the coffee shops in the downtown/main library area sell fresh lemonade? The stuff at Starbucks is out of a carton; sure would be nice if somebody made it fresh.

  1. I don't know if they do lemonade but Wood Spoon makes a delicious fresh Limeade.

    1. I've never been sampled the wares, but there's a juice bar place at Grand Central Market near the Broadway entrance side that has all kinds of juices that look like they're maybe made fresh.

      1. I believe Roy's lemonade is fresh squeezed (at least we were told the lemonade in the Arnold Palmer was fresh squeezed).

        1. Used to be a stand on 8th, 1 or 2 blocks east of Grand. We used to hit it up everyday, Great lemonade. I do not know if it is still there.

if you count Cassell's as downtown, they make up some great lemonade.

also Jay's Jayburgers used to make some great fresh lemonade, sometimes there would be some seeds floating in there, to go with there superb double Jay or triple Jay burgers. alas, it's no more. but a joint called Sean's place took over the shack, hopefully they still serve that lemonade. But don't count on it whatsoever.

Too far south than the area you are looking for, but I just had a fresh lemonade at La Taquiza on Fig. Remember seeing stand as noted earlier recently at Grand Central and seems like closest bet?
Yes, RIP Jay's, sad how closure went down there...

              1. re: kevin

Cassell's is very good lemonade! Jay's RIP! Sean's that replaced it, ehhhh, they put ketchup on a chili burger, WTF!

I think mustard has no right to be on chili dog but Pink's serves it up as standard. Not that I like Pink's dogs to begin with.

Fresh lemonade is harder to get than it should be.

            2. Hmm. Don't know about coffee shops, but they serve good fresh lemonade at both Daily Grill and the restaurant at the Standard. Oh, there's also a stand in Grand Central Market that sells aguas frescas, and I seem to recall that lemonade is one of the choices.

is phillipe's serving fresh lemonade? not recommending, just asking (it's a 25¢ DASH ride from the Cnetral library).

Yes, although I think the price is up to a whopping 75 cents!

              2. New Moon Cafe, 9th & Main/Spring, downtown L.A. And while you're there, try the Chinese Chicken Salad, Chloe's shrimp, crab and cream cheese wontons. Make sure you put plenty of plum sauce and hot mustard on the salad, unbelievable.

                1. There is the farmer's market outside the library that sells lemons, and that kid on the intersection of Fifth and Hope that sells fresh lemonade from his lemonade stand, he adds too much sugar in my opinion but at 5 cents a cup, it cannot be beat

They make it fresh over there and they've got different types of fresh lemonade such as peach, strawberry and blueberry lemonade. They're also $2 each which is a great deal for what you're getting.

Cool. Do you know what the cross street on Flower is?

Don't know how far it is from where you will be but, CPK has good lemonade, to me anyway.
