French Bistro/Restaurant Sarasota

I live in Punta Gorda and I am looking for a good french restaurant or bistro in Sarasota. Any suggestions?

I've been trying many restaurants in and around Sarasota, in a recent visit as well as numerous visits over the years. My two absolute favorites are The Table in downtown Sarasota ( www.thetablesarasota.com ) and Beach Bistro in Holmes Beach at the north end of Anna Maria Island ( www.beachbistro.com ), with honorable mention to Derek's ( www.dereks-sarasota.com ) and Rustic Grill ( www.rusticgrill.com ).

I have been to both Cafe Europe and Beach Bistro, but have not tried the others on your list. Beach Bistro is by far a favorite of mine, and a nice drive.

I like Cafe L'Europe on St. Armand's Circle. It's not "full-on" French, but the menu has a heavy French influence (see link). The lobster bisque is to die for! The restaurant is visually lovely, and service is polished.
