Dinner for 8 in Chelsea or UWS?

I've been away from NYC for 2 years, am returning next week and need a reservation for 8 people - ideally in Chelsea, Hell's Kitchen or the UWS. I'd like to keep it around $25-30 pp and someplace quiet enough to conduct real conversations since I have a lot of catching up to do!

Cookshop, part of the Five Points group. Great wine list, rotisserie, can handle a crowd.

Le Zie, in Chelsea, is not the quietest place, but I wonder if they can give you most, or all, of the smaller back room. The food is great and the price is right.

You also could do La Lunchonette, which is quiet, good and cheap.

hey there, kam0416! i recommend the landmarc in the time warner center. great place, and i think it would be perfect for your gathering. you sound like a very warm, grounded person, and your nyc friends are lucky to be getting a chance to see you.

I like Landmarc too, but I don't think there's any way to eat a sating dinner and walk out of there for $25-30. More like $40-50, and I have easily spent $70 with wine, tax and tip.
