Las Vegas Dim Sum
I am visiting Vegas at the end of the month, I am looking for good Dim Sum or good asian. I love Thai and Sushi. We are staying off the strip and I am willing to travel.
I have read about Lotus of Siam and plan on visiting, unless it is suggested otherwise. I will be on business and will be traveling alone and on a very tight budget.
Thanks for your help.
Will you have a car? Stay off-Strip for best value for your $$. A trip to Vegas' Chinatown is a fun way to see parts of the city the average tourist misses. LOS is famous on CH, for many reasons. They are very, very good, and can be scorchingly HOT! See if they have good, fresh mangos for their sticky rice and mango dessert. It's one of the best things on the menu!
Ichizya, a very good (but notoriously BUSY at night) Japanese pub (izakaya) that has very very good food, low prices..BUT..you run the risk of waiting for a place to sit, and it can be really noisy, with many drunk people. They are in LV's Chinatown, on the 2nd floor of the strip-mall past the "main" Chinatown mall. I'll post the address ASAP.
Having a car will give you lots of opportunites for cheap, good eats in Vegas!
Great Dim Sum at Ping Pang Pong in the Gold Coast hotel. Don't let the name or location scare you away. They have it daily from 10 to 3. I went there with a big brunch group and we were stuffed and very satisfied.
The 3 main dim sum places I like are Orchids Garden, Chang's Hong Kong, and Cathay House. All 3 are west of the Strip.
Haven't hit Ping Pang Pong yet, but plan to on my next trip.
