Best steak frites under $20

I don't mind payng foe the occasional $40 top end steak, but what are the best under $20 steak frites deals in LA. Mostly looking at westside and South Bay.

Two words: "La" and "La." I think Lala's steak frites is still under $17, and is delicious. The size of the steak is a little smaller and they've added a little side salad to the meal, but it's a great delicious deal nonetheless. It's a skirt steak, so it's different from the cut you're going to get at other places, but I prefer it for it's meatiness.

Darren's in Manhattan Beach has a bar menu that features steak frites for $15. Pretty amazing. I second the Lucques recommendation; it trumps most steak houses.

The steak frites I had at Darren's kind of spurred me onto this search. They were great, and Darren's is on my way home to Hermosa from Century City. I figured I'd try to find some more steak/fries options on my way home. Thanks to everyone for their recommendations. Lucques is in my future next night I work late.

I thought Fraiche (in Culver City) had awesome Steak Frites which I ....think is under $20

Oh, that's easy. Lucques has a steak frites on their lunch ($19) and late night bar ($16) menus that is superb. Absolutely wonderful.
