apps and cocktails in Providence?

It's my birthday soon... Any recs on where to go for a mid-week celebration where there are good appetizers and cocktails? I'm pretty open-minded...

Try Newport, hands down above Prov. Restaurants. 22 Bowens, Clark Cooke House, Yesterdays, Fluke this one is hot and there are about 20 plus places within a 5-8 min walk.

Zooma has a great bar menu. Red Stripe I think has some interesting apps. If you want to travel out of the city, N-Joi in Cranston has some wonderful little plates and a beatiful bar. The bar at Local 121 is lovely as well, but the food can be less than consistent (although recent reports have been very favorable).

We recently had a wonderful mid-week ladies night out at La Laiterie on Wayland Square. The wine list was wonderful and the food was just perfect. It can be tough to get a seat, but mid-week you may be okay. They will take a reservation for a party of 6 or more (we were 8, which meant we were seated right away)
