Last minute LOS help!

I'm going to Lotus of Siam this evening, and everytime that I go, I become overwhelmed with the menu and what to order. Any suggestions on the best dishes would be very welcome. We don't mind spicy foods, but cannot eat scallops due to an allergy. Anything else is fair game.

Sorry for the last minute posting, and thanks!

  1. One of the things we do often is to order a series of dishes that all play off of each other well, to hit the full flavor spectrum. Last night with a small group it was a whole grilled snapper with chili, basil leaves & bell peppers; braised short ribs with their panang curry; and their garlic prawns. We enjoy doing it that way, so that everyone gets to try a lot of different flavors. If you are a solo diner that is not as easy to do, of course, but you might be able to talk them into smaller portions of items that you are interested in; they can be very flexible.

    1. A special that's usually available - soft shell crab salad. Also the crispy rice with sour sausage. Definitely finish with coconut ice cream & sticky rice (& mango if in season).

I second the crispy rice and sour sausage appetizer, as well as the sticky rice (with mango or coconut ice cream). I also love their beef salad - best I've ever tasted!
