BU area for lunch

My wife and I will be going to a BU gallery on Saturday (808 Commonwealth Ave). Can you suggest some nice sit-down places for lunch? Price is not an issue and walking, up to 15 minutes, is fine. Thanks.

  1. Brown Sugar for some pretty decent Thai.

    1. Hop on the T for lunch at Eastern Standard or Petit Robert Bistro in Kenmore Sq. Or India Quality if you're in that mood. Tack on probably another 10 min to walk.

      1. Sunset Grille and Cantina on comm Ave

Ugh...It gets marks for being very close to the gallery, but that's about it. Avoid.

            Agree. especially Saturday at lunch.

        2. Audubon is only a few blocks from the gallery as is Elephant Walk. Both are on Beacon within a block of Park Drive.

          1. Eastern Standard has a great lunch. I had lunch there recently and everything we ate was great. It's sophisticated pub fare serving local and classic favorites. The raw bar is amazing and so is the steak tartare. The service is nice too last time I was there our waiter could not have been more friendly and helpful.

            1. Sunset & Audubon are best, but don't overlook O'Leary's next to Chef Chang's @ St. Mary's St. Not that far from Game On or Boston Beer Works either.

Sugar and Spice about 10 mins W on Comm Ave. Thai food, some of the best around these parts.

              2. The walkable places from the BU Gallery that are worth looking into are Brown Sugar (west along Comm Ave) and Audubon Circle or Taberno De Hero (south down to Beacon St). Kenmore and Allston are slightly too far for an easy walk.

They want lunch and Taberna is only open for dinner.

                2. I would definantly recommend Eastern Standard, it would be about a ten minute walk from the gallery. The gallery is located in the middle of BU's campus and ES is located at the end in Kenmore Sq. Definantly worth the walk.
