Breakfast in the Loop at 7 am on a Saturday?

Hi! I'll be taking the MCAT this Saturday (eep), and I'm looking for a place to charge up on proteins, fats, and carbs prior to the test. My school's dining hall is closed, as are most places I seem to be able to find online near the testing center (on Clark between Washington and Madison).

If anyone can recommend some place that serves any kind of food at 7 am on a Saturday within a few-block radius, it'd be a pretty big relief. Thanks!

  1. There are at least three Marquette Inn diners in the loop. Greasy spoon greek places that are filled with cube dwellers during the week. Heck, I even eat a gyro and fries here once in a while--nothing like processed lamb, yogurt sauce and well-done fries.
Don't know the hours, but there is one on Franklin and Adams (across from Sears Tower) and one over by the LaSalle Bank Bldg on Clark (I think).

Other than the gyros, you can get good eggs with a full breakfast menu.

    1. There aren't a lot of places that open that early on a Saturday. For example, Atwood Cafe (at Washington and State) opens at 7 during the week, but not till 8 on weekends.

Lou Mitchell's is more than a few blocks - maybe about a ten minute walk if you're starting at Clark and Washington, but it's very convenient if you're arriving in the Loop at Union Station or the Ogilvie Transp Center. They open at 5:30 on Saturdays. www.loumitchellsrestaurant.com

jbontario's recommendation of the Marquette Inn above sounds like a good one too, and much closer than Lou Mitchell's; the listing on Metromix for the location at 135 W. Madison says they open at 6:00 on Saturdays.
