Where to get a fantastic Boston Creme Pie

I've got a few weeks to find a fantastic Boston Creme Pie for my boyfriend's birthday. It's his favorite, but the trouble is we haven't been able to find one he really likes in the area. Does anyone know where I could get a delicious Boston Creme Pie around Fairfield County, or even White Plains/Westchester?

Don't know if it's fantastic or not, but I saw them at Stew Leonard's in Norwalk over Easter weekend and I gave it some serious thought!

Grandma's Pies in Yorktown/Mahopac (definitely not southern Westchester). What about Galloway's in Scarsdale? Cerbone's in Rye Brook? Harrison Bake Shop?

A avenue, it's realllly easy to make. You can cheat with the cake layers.

I second all of Dim Sum Diva's choices. You can also call Sweet Delites in Somers, the original incarnation of Delite bakery in Yonkers, to see if they make one. They have a specialty cake, can't think of the name, and you might like this in place of the BC Pie.

Grandma's BC pie was pretty respectable.

Did I hear that Grandma's now has a location on Central Ave. in Hartsdale or WP? Their BCP is good, not the best. If you ask Adolf at Scarsdale Pastry Center a few days before you need it I bet the'll make one for you...

Cubanat, you're a few years behind...Grandma's on Central Ave. has opened and CLOSED! Lasted a couple of years. I think part of their demise was their early closing (7pm? 8pm?). It was a great place to go for dessert, but it was never open when you wanted it to be!

        Homestyle Desserts in Peekskill, NY.

Whatever you do, don't go in there hungry! LOL...They make everything there, on site, and their pies are simply awesome!

A avenue, I just thought of another place. Galloway's in Scarsdale, open only on Friday and Saturday I think.

Or how about Lulu's, also in Scarsdale?

The key to a good Boston Cream Pie is the custard, which should be amazing. I think both of these places can be trusted to have a realllly good custard.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I'm going to check with your reccos this next week, and hopefully the pie will be a huge success on the 15th!

Also check Rivera Bakehouse. I always think of them for cakes, but we've actually had so fantastic pies from there as well...
