Chow Challenge: Upscale-casual in NW Phx/E Glendale open on Mondays (PHX)
A friend is looking for a restaurant to have a business dinner tonight near 43rd and Thunderbird. After a poor experience at Basis last week, she is looking for an alternative. I was going to suggest Ninetta's, but they are closed on Mondays.
The restaurant doesn't need to be the highest of high end, but something more elegant than Carolinas would be in order. ;-)
Ideally, the location would be south of (or just north of) the 101, north of Dunlap, and east of 59th Ave/west of the 51, but points a bit south and east might also work.
I'll keep looking, but I appreciate any tips you can pass along.

re: arizonagirl
Thanks! That's the place I was trying to think of this morning.
All I could remember was Italian near 59th Ave and Union hills. Once found references to Ninetta's, I figured I was just wrong about the location. Nina. Ninetta's. It's all the same, right? ;-)
I'll pass along the suggestion.
Thanks again.

re: arizonagirl
I ate at this branch of Tutti Santi, last night (Mom's birthday). I had the Homemade Ravioli Alla Nina, which was very good. 'Rents both had a veal dish with eggplant and spinach that is not listed on the online menu. They loved it, lots of meat.
The bread was very good, a nice crusty loaf and some flat bread, with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dispensers at the table.
I also was very happy with the spumoni.
The pizza looked good, too.
Prices were lower than I expected. The three of us ate for about $100, entrees and dessert, with no drinks.
