I made B&B pickles for the first time this fall after planting way too many cucumbers, and I was shocked at how good they were and how much better than store-bought.
I did a lot of research before making the pickles, and it seems most pickle recipes are the same. So I used two recipes: one from http://www.canningpantry.com/pickling...
and one from "Cooking from Quilt Country" by Marcia Adams.
The two recipes are basically the same, except Adams' recipe calls for 25 cucumbers and 10 onions, but I wanted a bit more precision, plus my cukes were bigger than the sizes specified by Adams. So I used the quantities from the recipe from canningpantry.com and the ingredients from Adams' book (the only difference was Adams' use of white sugar rather than brown sugar).
The pickles were outstanding, but my SO thought I used too much onion. So next time I might reduce the onion by half. Still a great pickle!
