Violet Crumbles and Other Imported Candy Bars
Hi all,
I have a challenge for any hounds with sweet tooths! I've been searching high and low, but haven't been able to find my favorite candy bar since moving to Manhattan. They're called Violet Crumble and come from Australia. I know you can't get them over the summer in the US anywhere as the company lacks their own refrigerated trucks (Nestle imports I think). If anyone has seen Violet Crumbles anywhere or has a suggestion for somewhere that imports UK/Australian candy bars, I would be much obliged. Preferably in Manhattan, but if they're hiding in the outer boroughs, I am not train averse!
Thanks!

i noticed your hunt for violet crumbles in nyc is dated from a couple yrs ago, but i live in nyc too, and was on the hunt for them forever and only found them at a newish place recently called shi on 143 orchard st. they're a freakin' 5.00 a bar, which is ridiculous, even by nyc standards...but they are a king size, if that's any consolation.

Try Tuck Shop, they have often Australian items. Otherwise, I'd go to Dylan's Candy Bar, Economy Candy, or Myers of Keswick. Also some of the Indian delis on 1st Ave in the East Village have British candy. I've found real UK Cadbury eggs there on a number of occasions.

Not sure if you ever found the answer to your question, but Dylan's Candy Bar on the Upper East Side stocks Violet Crumble. 1101 3rd Ave.
