Bridge Winery

Yes I am plugging a new place! We had an amazing experience last night in Williamsburg at Bridge Winery on Broadway. Nice, quiet and tasty! We were a foursome, and when we walked in the place was really dark. The owner waited on us and quickly explained that the were doing Earth Hour. They only serve New York State wines (and yes there are some good ones out there), they have tasting flights, cheese and cured meat platters. Everything they serve is from New York State even the cured meats which are from are D. Coluccio in Brooklyn. They do not have a liquor license, so they cannot serve wine in wine glasses, so they serve it in 'juice glasses' because they are considered a retail store and they only serve WINE, no beer or liquor.

Really awesome place! Support them - they are doing good things!

This is just like Vintage in SoHo. And yes, there are some very tasty New York wines. Don't hate because of general provenance - I had an amazing tempranillo from Texas of all places recently.

i don't hate them because of general provenance. i hate them because i have tasted them. short of a riesling or three, it's undrinkable plonk.

    2. Bridge Winery had a nice mention in this month's Wine Spectator! Check 'em out!
