Wine fridge recomandations
I'm looking to get a 150 btl plus wine fridge which are expesinve as far as I have found. I don't want to spend good money on something that craps out early. Any recomendations on good brands or advice on which ones to avoid would be greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest you consider other brands than Vinotemp. I have one Vinotemp and also a Vinotheque. I'm less than enthused with the metal label scraping racking on my Vinotemp. It's fine for storing standard Bordeaux style bottles but it's a pain for storing Burgundy and Pinot. My Vinotheque has universal wood racking and cannot store as many bottles as the Vinotemp, but I can store whatever I need to without ripping the labels to shreds. If you buy a Vinotemp, I'd suggest you forget maximum capacity and buy the larger interior racking.
Both units have worked well, and as Paul stated, I did indeed buy them off of Craigslist. I wasn't in a hurry to buy them because I had offsite storage at the time so I was able to wait for a great deal.
Costco or Costco.com has the best prices I've seen for new units. As for buying a 150 bottle capacity unit, I'd suggest you buy one that holds at least double what you think you need. You will thank me later.

re: MEalcentric
$590 is NOT incredibly cheap for a 55 bottle anything, imho. especially since they don't really hold 55 bottles! at least I have never seen one yet that did. All those wine fridges that claim to hold 55 bottles in reality hold about 42.
I paid $350 for my Danby "55 bottle" in 03, and except that it doesn't really hold 55 bottles (well, maybe it would if they were all Riesling!) I have had no complaints with it.

re: cfisch
I LOVE my Wine Enthusiast fridge from their "Silent" line.

Very inexpensive, and as quiet as advertised.
follow up: After posting this, I realize these are too small to serve your purposes; you may want to look into WE's other lines, though
