Red Velvet Cake

  • 9

Hey Hounders, LOL leave it to me to read a food blog and see Red Velvet Cake. I really have been wanting to try this cake for a long time. Anyone know where I can get some around here? If it helps, I live in the Northgate area. Thanks!

another vote for trophy, but have to say that cupcake royale's red velvet is a bit dry for my taste.

    2. The Kingfish Cafe has it on their dessert menu. It's really good.

It's one of Trophy Cupcakes' everyday cupcake varieties too: Red Velvet: Traditional Southern Buttermilk Cake with a Hint of Cocoa topped with Crea, Cheese Frosting: http://www.trophycupcakes.com/ $2.99 or $33/dozen

      1. When I worked in Madison Park I used to get the red velvet cupcakes from Bella Dolce...giant, moist, and delicious - topped with a cream cheese frosting with a lovely hint of coconut. I could really go for one of those right about now!

        1. Thanks everyone for your replies. I will need to get to Trophy Cakes, I heard that from other people as well. I work in Madison Park too. Hmm...may have to do a comparison on both locations. The Kingfish Cafe sounds like a great dinner spot as well.I will have the fiance take me there.

          1. Cupcake Royale in Ballard also does a fantastic Red Velvet cupcake...

            1. Pig Iron in Georgetown has a lovely red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting ~ the BBQ there is good stuff too. http://www.pigironbbq.net/

              1. On capital hill there's a place called The Cellar (it's behind the place where Cassis Bistro used to be) and they have the BEST red velvet cake ever. Unfortunately the rest of their food sucks though. But just get the cake to go.
