Has anyone been to the Lincoln Lounge lately? I was a loyal, regular customer, go there to eat every couple of months. The food was good, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was like walking into a time warp....
I went with a friend last night, and noticed that they had a new menu, WITH PARK AVENUE NYC PRICES. We asked the waitress about it, because we thought maybe it was family style dishes. She laughed at us, and said that since "Cheese" costs went up, so did their prices. For example, $17.00 for an appetizer of fried calamari isn't related to cheese costs in my world. Very disappointed. They've been around for ages, so I'm not sure what this is all about. This is probably my last meal there. If anyone is familiar with the place, please let me know what your recent experience has been like. Thanks.

  1. Humm-interesting to read. I have not been there in years.
Have to say: Long time ago, I worked with the owner's son and the owner of the auto body shop I use is also related. Yes, I know-rather small world.

That said I found it then very good on its own merits.

And I found this thread only because it was just written up in Westchester Magazine as a place for good comfort food.
Story brought place back to mind as it is not generally in direction I go anywhere for.
I do now plan on going back very soon and will report what I find.
