Anyone have a place to eat at near town hall that won't be empty @ 7:00 mid week? Tx

If you're worried about restaurants being empty at 7 p.m. during the week, you need have no fear because many will be packed with pre-theater diners. In fact, getting a table at 7 p.m.can prove difficult if you don't reserve well in advance.

It would be helpful to have some specifics so that we can make appropriate suggestions. Cuisine preferences? Casual or fancy? Per person budget for food?

I agree with RGR. Two places where you'd be lucky to get a table at that hour: DB Bistro Moderne, for Alsatian-inspired French; and Sushi Zen for wonderful sushi and other Japanese. Neither is cheap.

dbBistro was actually the first place I thought of. A la carte is expensive, but they offer a 3-course pre-theater prix-fixe for $45.

I should have mentioned that theaters are dark on Mondays, so getting reservations anywhere in the the Theater District is probably much easier.

You can check out RGR's favorite theater district rec, Trattoria Trecolori, on 47th between 7th and 8th.
