Tangerine Food Bar (on Solano)

Sometimes we forget to post about our old favorites. For me, this has become one of my "regular" (once a week or so) lunch spots. Fresh, quality salads, frittata, salmon or chicken, and now a variety of focaccia sandwiches. There are usually 8 or so salads to choose from, and the "main" (the frittata, sandwich, etc) comes with 2 side salads, or you can just get 3 salads. The salmon frittata is great, and is available most days, and is usually my first choice. (I've never had the soups.)

Flavors are always bright and fresh, and you never feel bad after the meal from too much grease or other undesirables. It is one of those places that since I never say "oh this was the best lunch ever" that I forget to mention it from time to time, and it is one of those places that will never likely have a "downhill alert."

After reading an article earlier today about SYSCO (not that it told me anything I didn't already know), it is nice to know that we have good food actually made on the premises by people who care in our area, and aren't eating the same dreck that at least 100,000,000 others in our country ate today.

Robert's food is very fresh and wholesome. Not too much salt. Not too much sugar. No preservatives or transfats. Try his soups. They are excellent and change daily. He aims to please.

Thanks for report on this. It is true some places fall off the radar because people take them for granted. I agree about the salmon

Tangerine also has a few cookies from Lola;s.

Usually, the selections are similar (I still go once every couple of weeks on average) but today there was a great carrot salad. Really bright with lemon/oil/cumin - it made for one part of a really good 3 salad lunch on a day I really didn't want a heavy lunch.
