Post-graduation restaurant good for groups

sara1213 Mar 28, 2008 03:26 PM

I am graduating from columbia and have a lot of people coming to town. We want to do a late lunch that is fairly reasonable and preferably on the west side...any suggestions? It would be for about 15 people, and i might consider renting out a room. preferably ethnic cuisine.
thanks!

Any particular west side neighborhood? Also, many restaurants close between lunch and dinner, so how late will your lunch be? But to get things started...

Uncle Nick's, on 9th Av., b/t 50th & 51st Sts., serves very good Greek food in a casual, taverna-style setting. You can start with lots of mezzes to share, and then each person can get his or her own main course. It's a fairly big place, so no problem accommodating a party your size. They stay open throughout the afternoon. Prices are moderate. Menu on menupages.com.
