Pregame before Warrior's

I'm heading over to the Warrior game on Sunday, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a place to go before the game to get some drinks and food. I'm looking for a place that is somewhat nice and not rundown like a lot of the places in that area. Anyone have any suggestions? I've been to the Hilton sports bar near the airport, so that could be an option, but ideally it would be a little nicer and closer. I'd love to hear anyone's suggestions.

Honestly, it would be easier if we gave you some places that are nearby the freeway, because there's nothing really good in that immediate area. Which direction are you coming from? My first thought for a place where it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to get on the freeway afterwards and isn't too far away from the Coliseum is Luka's or Tamarindo, but there are also some good places in the Fruitvale area, but you may not be able to get drinks.

Luka's would probably be the most similar to the type of place that I am looking for. I was just hoping there would be something similar close to the coliseum. I'll be taking BART from SF.

Ah, if you're taking BART, you should find a place where you can hop on/off BART. Jupiter, across from the Downtown Berkeley BART station would be good -- not as nice as Luka's and no alcohol, but good variety of beer and decent pizza. Tamarindo is near the 12th St. Oakland BART (oh wait, never mind, they're not open on Sundays). You could walk to Luka's from the 19th St. BART station, but it's not as close. I don't think that there's anything like what you're looking for around the Coliseum, especially if you're BARTing.

Yeah, you can get off 19th (exit to Broadway) and walk it to Lukas.

There's also Pacific Coast Brewing (off of 12th St Bart) -- food isn't as nice, but they have drinks.

Within walking distrance of the Arena / Colosseum, I think it's nothing but chains and dives. Luka's would be hard to beat.

Type of food? price range? what direction are you coming from?

Closer than the Hilton sports bar? Not much else besides fast food in that area.
