Death and Company

eateryrow Mar 28, 2008 08:13 AM

Hey everyone. I'm very interested in hitting up Death & Co. soon I'm curious to learn what the cost is for drinks. Food too, if you know, but I'm mostly interested in the drinks. Actually, it's less about MY being interested than my friends being interested and my not wanting to go alone.

I also posted about Pegu Club and Please Don't Tell separately, but it's the same question.

Thanks!

You can see the costs etc. by just checking their site, http://www.deathandcompany.com/lounge/

If you like Chartreuse and bitters, you'll likely find a few things here; there seems to be less of a "sweet tooth" on the menu than at PDT.

By the way, if you/your friends are keen to find well-executed drinks, consider the bar at the Tasting Room restaurant. Not a lot of unusual choices here and the menu is short, but what they serve is usually outstanding. Their Salty Dog, for instance, has just-squeezed juice and a delicately flaky maldon salt rim. Wonderful attention to detail; the costs are on par with these cocktail joints.

I think it's around $12 for the $12 specialty cocktails. Food is small plates, $6-8 I think, but I usually hit up D&C pre-dinner, so I never order food. The place doesn't take reservations, so your best bet is to show up shortly after opening at 6pm. One note: if it's cold outside, and you're by the door sitting at the bar, it can get super drafty.

Just went again - food is more like $10-16. Not exactly cheap. But if you're going for cheap, don't go to Death & Co.
