Melisse . . . what to order???

anothernotch Mar 27, 2008 08:25 PM

Going to Melisse, my first time, for dinner tomorrow. Expecting a memorable meal. Are there any must order dishes? I'm considering going with the tasting menu. Thanks in advance.

If you don't do the tasting menu, I would seriously consider the rotisserie chicken (for two), served and carved tableside.

Agree with the Carte Blanche tasting menu. Be prepared for a lot of food. By course 9 I was struggling. Personally, I'm not too crazy about Melisse in general but if you are looking for a lot of foie gras, truffles on everything kind of meal, this is the place to go.

When you sit down, they bring a champagne cart by. So you should get a glass. Last time there, my wife had a vegetable salad appetizer and i had yellowtail sashimi...then we went with the cote du boeuf for two. The entire dinner was amazing (although there is a bit too much food).

I have never had the tasting menu there but understand that it is wonderful.
