I am going to be in Lille for a business meeting in a couple weeks. I am looking for a casual restaurant or pub where a large group of 10-12 people can gather. It would be great to find a place with good food that is typical of that region, but would prefer to avoid very fancy places. My search of the board found nothing on Lille so hoping someone out there can help me out.

  1. I'm not sure this link will help, but it's something. We took a daytrip to Lille a few years ago, and it was in my files. From what I remember, moules are the big thing in Lille, although we didn't have time to try one of the restaurants specializing in those. There were many near a large square in the centre of town. The food tends to have a lot of Belgian influences which makes sense. The art museum there is quite good if you have time and there are some very nice patisseries scattered around, too. Off topic, but my mother's best friend was a Resnik. :-)

In case you see a typo or want to add a link, address, etc., you can edit your own replies for a while (30 min or so).
Just in case you shouldn't have noticed. ;o)

Thanks, Dodo. I never have a typo. :-) Seriously, I never tried editing that quickly, but I'll give it a go next time.
