Hornblower Yacht Dinner Cruise - Food?
We're considering a Sweet 16 Dinner Party Cruise for our daughter on the Hornblower Yacht out of Newport Beach Harbor. Any comments on recent experiences, in particular, food quality and service? Alternate suggestions if warranted?

I think the good time a group of 16 year olds will have on the ship will outweigh the food. I have been on a couple of their dinners and the food is average. Probably not what you might find on a luxury ship but it was certainly better than just edible and remember, they probably love fast food so this could be gourmet food to them.

I was on a Hornblower cruise in San Diego in December and the food was surprisingly decent. I was served a large and fresh salad, steak that was tender and cooked to order, fresh vegetables, potato, cheese cake. The cruise was nice, too. It will be even nicer in warm weather when hanging out on the decks will be comfortable.

Hi Helper;
I think a dinner cruise for a Sweet 16 could be a very fun idea if lots and lots of friends go. The food is typical of ship food. I liken it to hotel food. Definitely not gourmet but Hornblower is a bit better than most meals you will get at a wedding reception. Hope that helps.
