Visiting Hofstra

I will be visiting Hofstra Law School with my daughter and husband on Friday April 4th. I an an ex new yorker living in massachusetts and would love some recs for delis in the area.

I wanted to know if you were talking about a kosher deli, or something else. The other kind of deli's that I know of are only take-out, so didn't know if that is what you meant. If you want a kosher deli, there is a Ben's in Carle Place, which is only a few miles north of Hofstra. It is on Old Country Rd. in the Country Glen Shopping Center, diagonally across from Roosevelt Field.

The Coliseum deli is right next to Hofstra. It's decent, not outstanding. I can't think of anything else in the immediate area.

What kind of deli, are you talking about something like Ben's?

I haven't lived in the area for over 30 years so names don't mean anything to me. Looking for a place where I can get a good sandwich on a nice roll.

Coliseum Deli is the best known deli around there, just east across from the Coliseum.

Jim's Deli at 914 Front Street in Uniondale has been going strong for over 30 yrs. Great sandwich on a good roll.
