Who makes your favorite Bloody Mary?

Bars or bartenders - who makes your favorite savory, restorative Bloody Mary? Besides you in your own kitchen, I mean.

Personally, I'm partial to the recipe we followed at Monaghan's Erin Rose, which included a dash of Guinness - I still do that at home. And I'm always looking for new concoctions to try!

  1. I'll go with JT at Flanagans on St. Philip. They give her a squirt of Guinness as well.

        Commander's (extra spicy).

Molly's is probably my favorite. They do the shot of Guinness, too, which would make sense since Monaghan owns Molly's, too. (I'm assuming it's the same Monaghan.)

My favorite used to be at Snake n Jake's, though I haven't been there in a while, so I can't vouch for it.

Jim used to own both bars, and left Molly's to his son and The Erin Rose to Troy & Angie.

      2. Carousel Bar at Hotel Monteleone. Love the spicy flavor and the garnishes (spicy pickled green bean, olives, etc)

        1. The Columns Hotel on St. Charles makes fantastic bloody marys with the spicey beans

          1. The Gazebo outdoor dining place on Decatur puts horsradish in theirs. YUM.

            1. Spahr's, Des Allemands, LA.

              1. I give props to Marvin at the Monteleone Carousel Bar...always a good drink and good conversation. I also love the Bloodys at Columns...very spicy and smokey...but it depends on who's making them....I also like the Bloody at Cafe Lafitte in Exile if Aletha is tending during happy hour.

                1. I personally enjoy a Bloody Mary at Parasol's and or Mimi's in the Marigny.
My two New Orleans Favorite Bloody Mary's.

                  1. I found a gallery of Bacon Bloody Mary's:

and of course promptly hung it onto da'Ladda:

I can't think of anywhere in NOLA that makes one of these?
As for "where" to find the best thing in New Orleans, it often has as much to do with "when" for me.
I found my first Best Bloody Mary: on a beautiful afternoon outside along the river with Fats and Dr. John on stage at the same time.. where? at the Pat O'brien's booth. It really hit me then that, even at out-door concerts in this town, they still Always make a Bloody Mary by hand from scratch, even famous Pat O's. It was soooo good too.
Had the Columns Hotel BM and that was damn near a religious experience up amongst the trees at around 7am.
But really, I have to agree with the Monteleone Carousel Bar...it was almost like tasting memories that were not my own but familiar just the same.

                      2. Travis at The Red Door on Carrollton takes great care to serve up an outstanding bloody mary. His efforts get my vote for best bloody mary I've ever been served in public!
