out of town friend

An old friend is coming to NYC. Looking to catch-up at a moderate priced restaurant with tasty, quality food and an intimate atmosphere. Any suggestions near Union Square is best, but open to all in Manhattan.

    Third Giorgio's of Gramercy.
    Via Emilia is good too, but not as intimate. Cash only

        Ae you talking about meeting up for dinner or another time of the day? a couple places come to mind in Union square.

        If you are just meeting for a couple of drinks/appetzer a nice place to meet is The House in gramercy Park. The bar downstairs has nice tables and candlelight perfect for catching up with a good friend. The last time I ate there was over a year ago and I didn't think it was that great but things may have changed since then.

        Otherwise I would suggest Giorgio's of Gramercy. The foood is very good, prices are reasonable and the setting is intimate yet relaxing.
