This might be old news for some of you, but after reading posts about the Scottsdale Culinary Fest, I was heartened to stumble upon the site for Eats3, which promises to showcase local talent instead of chains. Other than the dates (Oct 23-25, 2008), details seem to be pretty sketchy.

I received an email newsletter from Cowboy Ciao announcing that Jacques Pépin will be at Eats3. I think the Valley is ready for a new culinary event. With the fine dining restaurant boom, it makes sense to have a new spotlight event.

Cool to see someone else excited about Jacques! I have a library of his books. His new "fast food" book is due sometime this year. I had a chance to meet him once but didn't have anything to sign!

If he's signing at Eats3, I'll be sure to bring a stack of books!

I noticed that the tickets for Eats3 are now on sale. Any insights as to the "must attend" events? The Grand Tasting on Saturday looks like a highlight. They have also updated the list of chefs on the website.
