Breakfast in or near Plainville?

I am meeting some friends near Plainville, CT this weekend and want a place for breakfast. Nothing fancy, a decent diner would be great. I'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

  1. My wife's and my favorite place for breakfast is the Pepper Pot in Southington. It's on Center Street opposite the North end of the Town Green at the intersection of Center Street and Route 10. Great omelets, huge pancakes, weekend specials.

    1. it's a 10 min drive and a bit cliche but the hearth n' kettle in attleboro has never let me down. hearty, full bar, and a nicer atmosphere than most b-fast spots.

      1. Sorry I missed the weekend for you, but for future reference, the Main Street diner on Main St in Plainville is the best in the area for breakfast or lunch. Any omelettes are great for breakfast, and I've been told by my southern friend their biscuits and gravy are right on. For lunch, they have one of the best burgers in the area.

The plainville diner is not the same as it was. Look like they have new owners. They did clean it up a bit but that's all. The mexican family that worked there and were the reason the food was so good are gone. The food is not the same and the service is the pitts. Guess I'll have to find a new place, maybe the oakwood diner in West hartford

        2. Also for future reference... Bantam Bakery on Whiting Street in Plainville. Not a diner, but they have egg sandwiches, a wide coffee and pastry selection and a lovely granola with yogurt breakfast. I recommend the rye toast with butter... wonderful!
